Valley Bloom Kids

We address the needs of children from K through 12th grade, focusing on three areas.

Teens

We work with both the Chandler and Gilbert School Districts. Both school districts identify homeless school age children. We strive to assist the schools to provide opportunities for these students 7th-12 grade, to succeed. We are providing clothing, shoes, toiletries as well as special needs such as summer school tuition or dual enrollment for high school students. In 2021-2022 we reached 338 students.

Dressings

At the beginning of each school year our chapter provides new school clothing, shoes, hygiene kits and books to kindergarten through sixth grade students in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe and Kyrene school districts. These services are available to students who have been identified by their schools as children in need. A goal of this program is to enhance self-esteem and encourage regular attendance. During the 2021-2022 year our chapter reached out to 1,446 of these children.

Our chapter is currently working with the:
Higley Unified School  District                  Mesa School District
Queen Creek Unified School District        Kyrene School District
Gilbert School District                               Tempe School District

Uniforms

We also provide uniforms to twenty-four elementary schools in Chandler, Mesa and Tempe. Approximately 5,577 children received two tops and two pairs of shorts/pants. School nurses at these schools also receive sweatshirts, shoes, socks, hygiene kits and underwear to distribute to students as needed.
